Downgrade iOS 4.3 to iOS 4.2.1 [Guide]

Today and with this Guide, I will show you to how to  downgrade its iOS 4.3 to 4.2.1 with an IOS requirements and error 1013 in iTunes 10.2.1

Currently it is possible to downgrade its iOS 4.3 to a previous iOS if you do not meet certain conditions:

First you must to have your file SHSH signed prior to an iOS

Again I remind you that your baseband version changes with each update the IOS and return is not possible to have an older version baseband even restoring an old IOS.

Baseband current version only allows to restore an IOS version that corresponds to baseband (for the latest version of baseband).

Although you changed the host file or use TinyUmbrella TSS with its server, you get an error of type 1013 following the restoration of the IOS with 4.2.1 to 4.2.1 SHSH signed

1-Launch the iTunes software, restore iOS 4.2.1 with the ALT key (Shift for Windows) + click on "Restore" in iTunes.

2-Restoring runs but will crash at 3 / 4.

3-Wait for the error 1013 via iTunes.

4- Close iTune

5- Now your in Mode recovery "Cable iTune"

6-Press the button (above) and Home (down) until the expiry of your iDevice.

7-Then immediately go into DFU mode , press the ON button 3 seconds and then ON + HOME for 10 seconds, then HOME button just 17 seconds.

8- Launch the software jailbreak Greenpois0n .

9-Follow the steps in the guide after switching to jailbreak DFU mode.

10-Your iDevice then jailbroken 4.2.1 under iOS then connect to iTunes to finish its activation following the restoration of previously iOS 4.2.1.

Note: You must have the original SIM card to activate your iPhone after restoring the IOS.

4-inch iPhone 5 with NFC chip goes in full production in Q3!

China Times is abuzz with alleged details concerning a fifth-generation iPhone 5. The handset is in trial production as we speak, the story claims, and full production is expected in the third quarter of this year. This would indicate that iPhone 5, which is expected to be introduced this summer, may not be immediately available in larger quantities following the launch. The device will be manufactured by Apple’s long-time manufacturing partner Hon Hai Presicion Industry Co., also known as Foxconn, the paper added. We told you this past weekend that Foxconn is planning to open a new manufacturing plant in São Paulo, Brazil in order to meet Apple’s growing appetite.
China Times also confirms speculation that iPhone 5 boasts a larger four-inch touchscreen in response to Android superphones with blown up displays. The story goes on to mention a possible NFC chip for contactless payments and an all-new scratch-resistant metal chassis designed to improve reception. The metal back corroborates our Foxconn source telling 9to5Mac that iPhone 5 will sport metal back akin to the original iPhone.
Plus, leaked parts we obtained yesterday from our Foxconn connections indicate that iPhone 5 will look a lot like iPhone 4, sans a larger display. The phone should be available in both black and white, parts analysis suggests. The existence of the home button on the leaked part contradicting claims of iPhone 5 losing the physical button to instead rely on brand new new gestures.

The NFC chip was mentioned numerous times by the blogosphere, gaining steam lately as big media puts their credibility on the line, including Forbes and The New York Times. The latter paper describes a possible Apple-branded payment system that could use iTunes accounts for swipe payments:
According to two people with knowledge of the inner workings of a coming iteration of the Apple iPhone – although not necessarily the next one – a chip made by Qualcomm for the phone’s processor will also include near-field communication technology, known as N.F.C. This technology enables short-range wireless communications between the phone and an N.F.C reader, and can be used to make mobile payments. It is unclear which version of an iPhone this technology would be built into.
I also speculated that a powerful combination of Apple’s brand and marketing muscle and the iTunes billing system is needed in order to take wireless payments into mainstream, outside the tech-inclined crowd. The Independent begged to differ, saying NFC technology will debut with iPhone 6 next year. In addition to contactless payments, Cult of Mac speculated, the chip, together with Apple’s cloud application store and MobileMe service, will enable a portable login system for Macs.

How to Recover iPhone Passcode !

When you forget the password of your email, facebook or Twitter account you simply click "Forget my Password". But what about your iPhone? What if you set a ‘Restrictions Passcode’ a long time ago and now you can’t remember the digits?

You’ve got a couple of options. For starters, you could restore your iPhone as a new device through iTunes. You can’t restore from a previous backup, because your passcode is saved in that file

Your other option isn’t quite so painful. All you need is about 5 minutes and iPhone Backup Extractor for Mac OS X, which you can get here. This guide is specifically for Mac OS X users. But if you meet the criteria and could really use some help recovering your iPhone passcode, dig in!

Step 1: Once you’ve download the free app, iPhone Backup Extractor, open it up and let it extract itself. You will then want to click ‘Read Backups’. A list of your previous backups should now populate. Just select the backup that you want to extract the passcode from.

Step 2: You should now be looking at a list of apps that have been backed up. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click ‘iOS Files’, and then ‘Extract’. I recommend extracting it to your desktop so you can find it easily.

Step 3: Extraction will take a minute. Once completed, open the folder it created called ‘iOS Files’. Look for the file named ‘com.apple.springboard.plist’, and open it up.

Step 4: As you scroll down this list of properties, you should see a key titled ‘SBParentalControlsPin’ and to the right of it a value. This is what your Passcode is, enter it in your iDevice, and thank Simon Blog for sharing this little tidbit with us.

It is important to note that jailbroken users, can also locate their passcode via SSH. All you have to do is navigate to ‘var/mobile/Library/Preferences’.

How to SSH iPhone!

Many users asked me about SSH, so I prepared this simple guide for them. At the begining What is SSH ? and why we do it?. SSH (Secure Shell) allows you to exchange data between two networked devices, using a secure channel. A jailbroken iPhone has the ability to connect with your computer via SSH, giving you read and write access to your iDevice’s hard drive.

Why we do SSH? You can repair damaged files, install games that aren’t in the App Store, and even turn your iDevice into a portable hard drive. I know it all sounds complicated, but we use applications to make the process as easy as browsing a folder on your computer. This is my quick and easy guide to SSH into your iPhone….

For beginners, your device MUST be jailbroken. You MUST also have an active Wi-Fi connection on both your iDevice and your computer.

Step 1: Download Cyberduck for Mac or for Windows.

Step 2: In your jailbroken iDevice, open ‘Cydia’ and do a search for ‘OpenSSH’. Go ahead and install it, and jump back on your computer.

Step 3: Open the Cyberduck application we downloaded earlier and click the ‘Open Connection’ button.

Step 4: In the server field you are going to type your iDevice’s IP address. This can be found by launching your ‘Settings’, selecting ‘Wi-Fi’, and selecting the blue arrow next to your wireless network. You should now see your IP address.

Step 5: Select the ‘SFTP’ option in the drop down menu above where you just typed in your IP address.

Step 6: In the Username field type in ‘root’. In the Password field type ‘alpine’. Click connect! You are now looking at the file system underneath Apple’s iOS!

Note: The first SSH may take a bit, after that it should be fine. If you get an ‘Unknown Host’ message, just ignore it and click ‘Allow’.

World Luxurious iPad 2 is Made Up of Diamonds, Gold, Rocks and T-REX Dinosaur Bones. Costs a Whooping $8,000,000

Since the launch of iPad 2 we knew we were going to see gold and diamond versions of it anytime soon. This, however, isn’t just a gold or diamond made iPad. This iPad 2 is as sexy as Cleopatra.
Obviously it’s not something you can easily get your hands on because it’s expensive. How expensive? that’s not important to know before you have this eyegasmic experience. Designed by Stuart Hughes, known for crafting one of the most luxurious products, this masterpiece only has 2 pieces. Don’t worry about the stock, you probably can’t grab one anyway.

The back which is made up of 24ct gold with an immense weight of 2000 grams has a magnificent total of 53 individually set sparkling gems dwell beautifully in solid 24ct Apple logo. Front frame is made from the oldest rock the world has to offer (75 million years old) in the form of Ammolite. What makes it more individual is 65 million year old T-REX Dinosaur’s thigh bone which was splintered and then shaved into the Ammolite, then finished off with ultimate jewel, as single cut 8.5ct flawless diamond inlaid in its own platinum surrounded with 12 outer flawless diamonds. Interestingly, these are the only specs available even on the official website of those who crafted this. No word whatsoever on the technical specs.
Now the heart-break, this comes in 5 million Pounds (8 Million US Dollars).

Next-Gen iPhone 5 to be Launched by June 20????

Recently Apple marketing senior vice president Phil Schiller confirmed that a white iPhone will be available “this spring”. It is important to note that he did not mention “White iPhone 4″ in specific. If Schiller was referring to the white iPhone 5, he then inadvertently slipped us a time frame for the iPhone 5 launch. Don’t you think?

@airickanderson Hi Eric. The white iPhone will be available this spring (and it is a beauty!).

We already know that the last date for spring season is June 20, so there’s your iPhone 5 availability date. Ok, let’s consider that Schiller was actually referring to a white iPhone 4. Even then June 20 seems to be a possible iPhone 5 release date because Apple might announce White iPhone 4 during iPhone 5 launch event at a reduced price. Apple typically keeps the current iPhone model on the market at a reduced price when unveiling a new model.

Based on earlier reports of suspicious-looking bookings at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Apple might unveil its next iPhone 5 on iOS 5.0 between June 5 and 9. If we take Phil’s tweet into consideration, we now know that the white iPhone 5 will be available by June 20 at the latest.
Interestingly, white model of iPhone 4 was never rolled out because of the white paint issue it was having in the rear surface. My bet goes with White iPhone 5 and not iPhone 4.

More iPhone 5 Parts Appears! Confirms iPhone 4-like Design

9to5Mac was able to procure some shots of fifth-generation iPhone 5s dock connector and headphone jack flex from Replace Base which indicates some of the changes in iPhone 5 design.

The fifth-generation iPhone is reported to arrive in two colors: black or white. The home button connector is present on the dock connector which clearly confirms that iPhone 5 is not dropping its physical ‘Home’ button, as speculated earlier.

The headphone jack flex is redesigned and unlike iPhone 4 the connection piece to the iPhone’s motherboard sits on the middle of the cable which could mean that Apple might be making room for bigger battery, a better camera, 4G chip, a Gobi CDMA/GSM chip, NFC.

We already know by now, that iPhone 5 will carry metal back, A5 processor, larger display, thinner bezel (edge-to-edge screen). As always, we will bring you latest updates on Apple, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Cydia Gets A Much Needed Speed Boost

Cydia, the App Store for jailbroken iDevices has never been the quickest app out there, with long delays in pulling data from its servers. Now though, developer Jay ‘Saurik’ Freeman has given the app a speed boost.
Cydia
@saurik: Just switched Cydia’s www over to the new "CDN->ELB" stack I’ve been building: requests to / from my apartment are down from 0.45s to 0.25s!
In a tweet today, Freeman told us that he has switched Cydia’s servers to a new CDN-ELB stack, improving request times from 0.45s to 0.25s. He also released three graphs showing the improved Cydia responsiveness over the space of three months.

A quicker Cydia is definitely a better Cydia, and well done to Jay for speeding up an already must-have app for the jailbreak community. Keep the improvements coming!

iPad 2 will Launch in Czech Republic

Last week several blogs noted that on Apple’s Czech website the iPad 2 was set to launch on April, rather than March as Apple had previously announced at the iPad 2 media event. On the website, Apple wrote “V prodeji od 25 dubna”, which roughly translates to “Coming April 25″. That was a month after Apple’s promised release date, and many speculated it was a sign of the company delaying the launch of the iPad 2 across Europe due to supply constraints.

But it looks like it was just a translation error by Apple’s website design team. The webpage has been updatedand now reports “V prodeji od 25 brezna” — which is March 25. The release date that Apple announced and, apparently, was never meant to change.

The iPad 2 will come out later this week in 25 countries (launch was delayed in Japan) and, from what we’re hearing, it’ll follow the steps of the US launch with afternoon availability on Friday and same prices of the original iPad

Rumors iOS 4.3.1 to Release within Two Weeks

According to BGR -who has a good track record regarding Apple rumors- that Apple is about to release iOS 4.3.1 within one to two weeks. Let's check out the expected updates on iOS 4.3.1.

  • Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original)
  • Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem
  • Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
  • Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recognizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2
  • Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulnerability
Now, I think Stefan Essar -the guy behind the iPad 2 upcoming jailbreak- shall modify his jailbreak schedule to save his exploit for iOS 4.3.1

New Bootrom Exploit to Jailbreak iPad 2 on iOS 4.3

Comex, the well-know iPhone hacker, and the guy behind Spirit and JailbreakMe, has unveiled some good news for iPad 2 users, as we reported you earlier that Comex has successfully jailbroke iPad 2 running iOS 4.3 with his upcoming userland jailbreak, today he just confirmed that there's new bootom exploit has been discovered by someone to jailbreak iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.

Someone asking Comex: is your new iPad 2 exploit in the boot rom? Or a userland exploit? Kinda curious. I am one of the lucky ones who landed one day one.
Comex replying: Userland, but I hear someone has a bootrom vulnerability that they might have exploited.
Comex didn't announce about the hacker who have this bootrom exploit. On the other hand you have to know that also Stefan Essar (iPhone hacker) also has confirmed that he will release his untethered iPad 2 jailbreak on iOS 4.3 by the next weekend.

It's highly expected that hacker behind this exploit will keep his bootrom exploit until iPhone 5 releases to make it effective for the longest period as much as they can, as this kind of exploits is only patched by a hardware upgrade. But the userland exploit is a software exploit which can be patched on any iOS update.

iOS 4.3 Untethered Jailbreak to Release by Next Week [Confirmed]

Here's a good news for who are asking about the ETA for iOS 4.3 untethered jailbreak, the iPhone security expert an hacker Stefan Esser has announced officially about it. He has confirmed that he is going to release it by the next week.

Good morning.

This video demonstrates my iPad 1 running untethered jailbroken iOS 4.3

The jailbreak uses a *UNDISCLOSED* exploit in the iOS Kernel. Installation is similar to previous iOS versions which means you require a bootrom exploit (or something else) to install it in the root partition.

Because there is no public bootrom exploit for the iPad 2 at the moment it will not work for now.

However the jailbreak can be made compatible with all devices that are vulnerable to the limer4in exploit and that are supported by iOS 4.3

Because of several changes in iOS 4.3 in comparison to iOS 4.2.1 the jailbreak is NOT READY yet. That is what the *ALPHA* means. I need some time to check what kernel patches are actually required to work 100%ly.

However I recommend the dev-team or chronic-dev to first release a *tethered* iOS 4.3 so that everyone can test if their nice feature actually work. I guess most people require Mobile Substrate to work and AFAIK it does not work due to ASLR. It would be a waste if Apple kills an untethered jailbreak before Mobile Substrate works.
That said I will release the jailbreak when a) there is no other untether by the time I am finished b) if MobileSubstrate works.

Any report that I wait for iOS 4.3.1 is just a misinterpretation of my words.
I merely think that Apple should release a iOS 4.3.1 soon, because it is in their interest to not wait for several months when everyone knows that there is a remote exploit in MobileSafari that might have leaked during the #PWN2OWN contest.

Check back in the next days for more information about when and where you can get it.

DO NOT LET YOURSELF GET SCAMMED BY ALL THE OTHERS TRYING TO SELL YOU THIS EXPLOIT. IT WILL NOT LEAVE MY HOUSE BEFORE IT IS FINISHED.

Because so many people are asking for an ETA:

I am pretty sure that the untether will be released before the next weekend. I was using older kernel patches that caused lagging on the jailbroken device. I will change that and then port it to the other devices and release.

iPhone 4 Unlock Basebands 2.10.04 / 3.10.01 New Progress

Today MuscleNerd has announced some new progress on the iPhone 4 unlock project for basebands 2.10.04 / 3.10.01, the news are related to the iPhone 4 NCK unlock which they are now concentrated to crack the NCK's 40 bit code. MuscleNerd has confirmed via his Twitter account that he finally got the SecZone dumper working.
Someone Asking MuscleNerd: Anything positive coming about your NCK attempts?
MuscleNerd Replying: finally got the SecZone dumper working (turns out it's very different than in 2G/3G/3GS, where SZ was simply memory mapped)
You may ask about the meaning of these tecky expressions:

What is the SecZone?
This is the area in the baseband where the lock state is stored.

What is NCK Brute Force?
This is a theoretical exploit which involves brute forcing the NCK from the seczone the CHIPID and the NORID. So far no one has made public an instance of NCK discovery using this theoretical approach.
MuscleNerd mentioned that the iPhone 4's SecZone is very different and difficult than the one of iPhone 2G / 3G / 3GS. Today's progress is definitely a new milestone. Now dev-team is working on capture the official NCK code and finally capturing after SecZone then work out an offline BF flow

so the idea is: capture (a) before-seczone, (b) official NCK code (c) after-seczone. Then work out an offline BF flow
after those steps a,b,c, then get back to the SW-based hacked unlock (and revisit BF results when they're done)
On the other hand, you have to know that there is another hardware solution for unlocking iPhone 4 basebands 2.10.04 / 3.10.01 with Gevey SIM.
